Welcome to the Terra Linda Ceramic Artists!

Due to COVID19 the Terra Linda Ceramic classes have gone virtual since March 17th. Amazing growth and beautiful work has been created during these difficult and uncertain times and I am so proud and moved by everyone’s dedication to their art and community. It took courage to jump into a drastic different way of learning, patience not knowing when or if firings would happen, ingenuity to improvise a safe clay working area at home and loads of kindness and rock solid support for one another.

In late March I was invited to join a virtual group of 40 Bay Area ceramic studios. Together we brainstormed  in view of a possible reopening specific to our industry.  This prompted me to draft a COVID 19 ceramic studio reopening guideline which I shared with the  Marin Recovers Arts Sector group, who in turn tasked me to create an Art Instruction Studio and Multipurpose Art Room reopening COVID19 guidelines.  Working alongside with Fairs, Museums, Galleries and Artist Studios industry experts, was inspiring, all of us trying to figure out if and how on earth to reopen safely our respective businesses.

Meanwhile my genius friend and amazing artist, Jo Clarke, patiently and generously helped me create online appointment forms to facilitate student’s curb side drop-off and pick-up , and an online reservation form and inventory of our studio’s glazes, that students will be able to use to reserve the glazes they want to use during their outdoor labs,  amazing!

And as of June 3rd, thanks to the tireless support of Debbie Younkin, Senior Supervisor at the Terra Linda Community Center & Pool, all these fragile creations, kept at the leather hard stage, could finally be curb side delivered at the studio for firing!
For all of us a sense of normalcy is coming back ever so slowly and when we begin our virtual summer class session in July we will have outdoor labs, see and hear each other, maybe have a beach pit fire too, weather permitting… All at a distance, but its a good start.

That is what community is all about! We did it and we rock!

Still the best kept art secret in Marin, this small studio generates wonderful award wining art and provides budding and professional ceramic artists alike a supportive and fun community to explore and grow with.

Check out the rest of the website to find out more about who we are and all the amazing things we do! Always check our EVENT page for upcoming exhibits and events, though a lot has been impacted by COVID19 I remain hopefull that we will be able to have our group exhibits soon again, stay tuned!
