Susan Hontalas

Terra Linda Ceramic Program

All classes cover hand building with clay using slab building and coiling techniques. Advanced students interested in showing and selling their work find the Tuesday (Intermediate & Advanced) &Wednesday (Advanced) morning classes a very supportive environment where work can be critiqued and ideas can be shared. Wednesday & Thursday pm class has all levels. Beginning students learn how to use drape molds, to make plates & bowls and learn sculpting techniques. Advanced students work on their own projects. There is a new project demonstrated every session. Clay and a wide selection of low fire glazes, underglazes, underglaze pencils & crayons, french dimensions, crystaltone glazes and a wide variety of cold finishes are available. We explore many different low fire techniques from Sgraffito, Majolica, Luster firing and more.
